Crap Hound is Sean Tejaratchi's clip-art zine, started in Portland, Oregon in 1994. Every issue pulls high-contrast black and white images from vintage catalogs, ads and printed ephemera sorted by theme. It has become a go-to image source for designers, collage artists and tattooers.
Issue 13 covers suns, moons and stars across 112 pages. Expect engraved and cartoon suns, crescent moons with faces, ravens under the moon, celestial lettering and starbursts, plus pop-culture strays like Mickey Mouse and diner doughnuts that turn up in the sun and moon shapes.
Celestial imagery is a tattoo staple, from traditional sun and moon faces to small filler stars, and this issue puts hundreds of options in one place. It is an easy pick for tattooers who want fresh reference and for collectors filling in the Crap Hound series.
