CONTENTBlack & white imagery and text
Crap Hound is Sean Tejaratchi's long-running clip-art zine, started in Portland, Oregon in 1994. Each issue gathers high-contrast black and white images pulled from old catalogs, ads, textbooks and other printed ephemera. The point has always been to give artists a well-organized source of imagery to use.
After three decades of requests, issue 17 finally tackles cats. Its 100 pages are packed with cats in every pose and period: cats chasing mice, cat heads, lounging cats, cartoon cats and vintage advertising cats, plus lettering and Tejaratchi's tongue-in-cheek ranking of the world's most popular animals.
Tattooers use Crap Hound as flash and reference material for traditional and illustrative work, and collage artists rely on it for clean, reproducible images.
