Tattoo Travel Book, published by Don Ed Hardy, is an elegant hardcover facsimile of an actual album of tattoo flash that Ben Corday made for himself while he was on the road as a tattoo artist and carnival tall man. These fine-line ink and watercolor designs, created in the 1910s and early 1920s, were painted individually and glued into a leather-bound souvenir photo album. Tattoo Travel Book contains 26 pages of that flash reproduced in the original size.
Besides Corday's classic images, this book includes photos and pitch cards of Corday and his work as well as a short introduction by Ed Hardy. Lyle Tuttle supplied a rare copy of Corday's obituary from the 1938 Los Angeles Times and also contributed invaluable historic information. This is a reprint of the original book released in 2010 published by Hardy Marks.

A meticulously crafted, limited edition facsimile of an antique book of tattoo designs painted by legendary Los Angeles tattoo artist Ben Corday. This collectible volume is offered in a series of beautifully-designed presentation slipcases.
Ben Corday, the towering Scots Guardsman who made his name tattooing in downtown Los Angeles, was at the height of his powers when, around 1918, he painted 45 stunning designs in an artist's sketchbook. His graceful lines and clear, bright color palette set a new standard for tattoo flash art that, nearly a century after his death, continues to thrill and inspire collectors and artists alike. Late of the Guards faithfully recreates this unique piece of Corday history to be browsed, referenced and treasured for years.
