CONTENTBlack & White
Crap Hound is Sean Tejaratchi's clip-art zine, started in Portland, Oregon in 1994. Each issue packs high-contrast black and white images from vintage catalogs, advertisements, odd publications and found ephemera into themed pages, with Tejaratchi's social commentary running through them.
Issue 9 goes back to the archive. Sex & Kitchen Gadgets first appeared in 1995 as two separate issues, Parts I and II. This edition reunites them in one volume, reworks the layouts and adds a large amount of new content, making it one of the densest issues in the series. Expect pinups, nudes, lingerie and underwear alongside Pyrex bowls, mixers and other kitchen gear, plus period slogans and figures.
Tattooers mine it for pinup poses and oddball vintage objects, and collage artists for its clean, reproducible images. Please note: this issue is not for kids. It contains adult themes and sexually suggestive graphic material.
