Japanese Outlines Vol. II is a travel-size sketchbook from Fabio Gargiulo, with 140 pages of line drawings devoted to Japanese tattoo subject matter. The 8" x 6" softcover is small enough to keep at the station.

The drawings lean toward the grotesque and unsettling: yokai, hannya and other masks, and kappa, alongside flowers and other traditional Japanese motifs. Everything is presented as clean linework, which makes the book easy to use as a reference for tattoo outlines and for studying how Gargiulo builds a design before shading or color.
