The Louis Perez III Flash Set 2024 is a limited run of 12 loose tattoo flash sheets, released two years after his previous set. Each sheet measures 11" x 14" and is printed on heavy 110lb paper, so they hold up on a shop wall or at a station.
Every design was drawn entirely in blue ballpoint pen, which gives the set its distinctive look: fine, layered line work and soft shading built up stroke by stroke. Subjects lean toward Chicano and black and grey imagery, including the Virgin Mary, skulls, pre-Hispanic motifs, ladies and roses.
These tattoo flash sheets work as ready-to-use designs, as reference for fine line and black and grey shading, or simply as art to frame. Because the sheets are loose rather than bound, it is easy to pull one out and work directly from it. Earlier sets from 2020 and 2022 continue the same approach if you are collecting the series.
