Edward Funk - Crazy Philadelphia Eddie - started out in the tattoo parlors of Coney Island in the early 1950s and went on to run shops in Philadelphia's Chinatown and on South Street for decades. Tattooing: The Life and Times of Crazy Philadelphia Eddie is his multi-volume memoir, ghostwritten by Eric Foemmel from Eddie's own recorded stories.
In Volume 5, Eddie takes on the rats of Chinatown while renovating a gutted building, mixes his own tattoo inks, meets the love of his life, manages the tattooers in his shops, travels by ship, hosts conventions and plays peacemaker between rival motorcycle clubs. The 136-page softcover is illustrated with photos and color flash, including a Rock of Ages design.
Plain-spoken tattoo history straight from the source, for tattooers, collectors and anyone who enjoys the stories behind American street shops.
