CONTENTLine drawings & sketches
Dragon Sketchbook is Erik Rieth's third book, and it is dragons from cover to cover. Across 103 pages of line drawings and sketches you get dragon heads with a range of expressions, claws gripping pearls, full-body dragons, a winged dragon with a spiked tail, and fiery dragon horses, drawn loose enough to show his process and tight enough to work from.
Rieth has been tattooing since 1992 and founded Ghost in the Machine Tattoo in Boston in 2017. His work centers on Americana and Japanese tattooing with a strong respect for tradition, and that grounding shows in how his dragons are built: readable shapes, solid flow and details that will hold up in skin.
For tattooers drawing up Japanese sleeves, back pieces or smaller traditional dragons, this tattoo sketchbook is a practical reference for heads, claws and body flow. It sits well next to his Dragon Basics.
