CONTENTTattoo Flash and History
Pops ran a tattoo shop and museum in North Carolina. After he died in 2017, his wife compiled the Extravaganza of Stencils volumes to document his life in tattooing and the friends and artists who influenced him. The books are built from his collection: stencils and rubbings, tracings, business cards and photographs.
This second volume features material connected to Fred Marquand, Jack Rudy, Chicago Tattoo Supply House, Doc Webb, Earl Brown, Ed Hardy, Ed Horton, Lee Roy Minugh, Lyle Tuttle, Mike Malone, Owen Jensen, Paul Rogers, Percy Waters, Sailor Jerry, Mary Anne Smith and others. Stencils of reapers, birds, panthers and unicorns sit next to shop cards and machines.
As a book of tattoo stencils it is practical - clean outlines ready to trace - and as a document it records the paper trail of working shops. A good fit for any tattooer's library or shop shelf, and a natural companion to Vol. 1.
